Help!
Does anyone have any advice for me. I have had genetal herpes for 16 years, generally I had outbreaks 2 or 3 times a year. For the past 5 months or so since my CRC has been so out of control, I have had terrible yeast/herpes problems. Especially with my period, also I have a big blow out every time I try to get acupunture. I am talking serious pain! I understand my body is purging, but it is seriously out of control. I am following the protocol with the bentonite, caproyl, etc. , being pretty strict with my diet, I don't know what else to try. Is this ever going to end? It is robbing me of sleep as well as putting a serious strain on my relationship with my boyfriend. Help, I am abput at the end of my rope

What have you tried so far to cope with the virus? My mother has oral herpes and my cat has feline herpes, so I've read a lot about it. I know that L-Lysine is a very valuable supplement for my mother (the vet recommended it for my cat, too). The amino acid interferes with the virus expressing itself. Two herbal supplements that help a lot are lemon balm and cats claw, in tincture form. I don't know if this would be appropriate for genital herpes, but there is a lip cream called herpenex that contains topical lemon balm that I know people have used with great success.

Hi Littled,

I'm not sure if I ever posted the welcome link for you to help you find your way around our forum and site. It is full of links and information to introduce you to all that this program and site have to offer. Here it is:Welcome Post

Red is right about the lysine. It's known to be very effective. It's taken in doses as high as 4-5 grams per day and is often combined with selenium and with B12 injections. In addition there are many herbal concoctions that would or could compliment the above approach if necessary. This site is not specifically devoted to Herpes related viruses as you know but this information may assist you as you continue to explore your options. I wish you well with this. It's a nasty virus. I know it as an infection of the Central Nervous system which occasionally flares up on the skin.

I've experienced Shingles a lot in my life and I know the pain and frustration of this virus well. It is a good teacher though. It forced me to discover mindfulness meditation and to learn to listen to my bodies needs rather than pushing myself to exhaustion as I had hapbitually done before this virus became an issue for me. Again, the concept of the translation of the Sanskrit word for illness comes up. The English translation of this Sanskrit word is roughly, 'veiled insight.'

Take good care,

TLC

PS Any food that are inflammatory to you will aggravate this condition. I have found that tomatoes, grains, soy and dairy are detrimental.

Hi Red- Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am familiar with the beneficial effects of l-lysine,especially when combined with zinc. However, my immune system is so over loaded with this yeast die-off nothing seems to be working. My acupuncturist says that in chinese medicine both of these are considered as "damp heat" conditions and run through the same channels in the body. They just seem to have formed this nasty symbiotic relationship. I am on so many suppliments right now, it's crazy. Every time I start feeling a litle better, it's time for my period again and things just go downhill again. I guess it's time to cut even more stuff out of my diet!
P.S. Sorry to hear that about your cat, I didn't know there was a feline herpes!

Thank You Tarilee-

I appriciate your suggestions. I do take some herbal supplements, i did not know about the selinium though, I'll give it a try. As I mentioned before, I have lots more trouble at the time of my period, as well as after acupunture treatments. It's hard to separate the yeast problem from the herpes. I am thinking of giving up the acupunture for a while, but unfortunatley, that is not an option with my ladies time . Aside from the suggestions for cutting out soy, grains, etc.
is there anything to ease the situation at that time of the month?
Thanks again, I am so grateful to have found you guys(or gals I should say!)

Hi littled--I'm so sorry you're so uncomfortable. I would definitely make sure that you take extra special care of yoruself around your period. I also have a domino effect with my health around that time of the month, but if I'm really careful about how I treat myself it's manageable. The most important thing is to eat properly, stay away from caffeine, and make sure you're handling stress in a healthy way.

Also, if you're having yeast issues, this program is the best one out there. I've done it for years and it improved my health drastically. Candida compromises your health to the point where it exposes all weaknesses by bringing down your immune system. The diet recommended here, along with the antifungals will go a long way to improving your health.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you start to feel better really soon...

Take good care,

Ashley Winky

Hi Littled wave1...

I am sorry for your suffering, I just wanted to add that maybe you could use the antifungal every other day or every third day; that is what my ND suggested and it makes life so much more bearable and creates much less stress on the liver.

Your liver gets congested and can't cope with all the die off, so it spills over into your bloodstream, and really wreaks havoc in all your systems. I never truly understood this until just recently and it is all so clear to me now...that is why it is so important to go real slow.

I think Udo's oil, or any good EFA supplement and evening primrose oil are both supposed to be good to ease those monthly symptoms.

Best luck and know that we are here for you. wub

buddygirl-
Thank you for your advice. You are right on about the liver. My acupuncturist was just telling me my liver meridian was weak. Thanks for reminding me slow and easy is the way to go. It gets so discouraging with this "yo-yo"ing. I know with all the encouragement from you ladies, life will be normal again one day!

Littled, you'd be surprised at how much progress you can make with your health once you find a path that works for you. This place was my lifesaver way back when, and has been for many of us. Keep letting us know how you are okay?

Hi Littled,

If you are able to take on candida cleansing in an extremely gentle manner while taking great care to allow full detoxification of the toxins produced along the way, you may well be able to lessen your PMS symptoms. You'll likely need to start the process by carefully analysing your diet according to the recommendations offered on this site so that you can be sure you are eating a diet that is therapeutic for you. Once you eliminate problem foods, refrain from indulging in any food addictions and sugary or starchy foods, you will likely find a big difference in how you feel all month. Once you are strong enough to handle a bit of anti-fungal you can bring this in gradually as Sandi suggested. In any case, starting with the psyllium, bentonite and probioplus will be helpful to start.

As for directly supporting your hormonal process, there are many herbal remedies available but it's quite tricky to sort out which one is right for you. Your naturopath will hopefully be helpful in this regard. Also, during the overall cleansing and detoxification that I am referring to as an important part of your Whole Approach program, you'll find that you liver gets clearer and stronger and this will impact your hormone cycle positively as well. You can also use the Saint Francis Herb Farm's Milk Thistle Combo to support your liver directly...but be sure to increase your dosage gradually and go easy with it. It's fairly strong.

Attogram Liquid Bentonite

Probioplus DDS Acidophilus

Milk Thistle Combo Tincture

Attogram Psyllium Seed & Husk Powder Blend

I don't know very much about treating genital herpes but you may wish to take a look at the recommendations I've made in previous posts to folks with vaginal yeast issues regarding soaking in sitz baths. You should be able to pull them up by searching under "sitz baths" or just "sitz." Also, I strongly recommend you look into the B12 injections and super high doses of lysine that I mentioned above in combination with selenium. It's not easy to find practioners who understand these remedies enough to support you working with them but it's worth trying to find someone. I've seen these products have dramatic effects even on chronic cases of herpes viruses.

Good luck and take good care,

TLC

Hi Tarilee-

Thank you again for your suggestions. I am trying hard, but I know there are many areas where I could improve. I will try the milk thistle, and try to take things a little slower. I have a tendency to take things on a little too hard core. Working long hours as a cook at a fabulous European style bakery doesn't help much either. I'm good at resisting temptation, but I am putting some things in my mouth that I shouldn't be, checking for seasoning and such. As far as the sitz baths go- I've tried some of the things mentioned but, when I am really hurting I can't use any products, it just hurts worse. Something that has truley helped is the amount of caring reponses I've recieved. I thank all of you for giving me hope. I get so discouraged thinking I'm doing better and then bam! Back to square one. I'm so pleased to be getting some help from people that really understand.
Sincerely-
littled

Hi Littled, I don't know how you can resist all those pastries, except to keep some legal snacks at your fingertips...that must be so hard, but all the best to you, it is a battle that is well worth the effort. Yes

Take good care,

Hi Littled, I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly. It must be exhausing to try to make it through the workday, eat healthy, follow the candida program, deal with your boyfriend and manage a herpes flair all at once!! Try to get enough rest and be gentle with yourself.

I don't know what you typically eat, but I used to work with a very knowledgeable "natural" nutritionist and she counseled a lot of people with herpes. In addition to lysine, zinc and selenium, she always suggested a yeast-free stress b-complex vitamin with buffered vitamin c(which is also helpful for menstrual difficulties) and avoidance of the following foods: all nuts, coffee (which is a no-no on the attogram program too), corn and nightshade foods, such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and potatos. (I remember her saying something about these foods altering lysine in the body or blocking lysine absorbtion, something like that)

She would have people go to a basic rice, veggie and lean meat diet, plus the supplements and LOTS of water for 2-3 weeks. No teas, no juices, etc.. Most people started to feel better within a couple of days and at the end of 3 weeks, they would try adding certain foods back into their diets.

Good luck, Littled. Keep us updated on your progress.

Very interesting about the nightshades, I knew that I was sensitive to them, but never knew why. I think they are a problem for quite a few people. Thanks for the info Sunshine.

I just want to thank you ladies for all of your great tips. I have added things to my regimine and given up a few more foods, mainly corn & soy (ouch, the vast world of food I so adore is growing so tiny!) But I am feeling pretty good right now. That time of the month is approaching and I am a little scared, but I am hoping to have an easier time of it!
