has anyone experinced a racing heart as a result of die off?
i have been doing this for a month and a half and i do get the racing heart if i overdo it on the antifungals, but lately i have been tolerating less and less antifungals.. i havent changed my diet or cheated or anything.. first i started 4 different ones and switched them around during the day.. then last weekend i began feeling spacey so i reduced it to 3. then yesterday i only took 2 and now today i'm down to just garlic! and still have a racing heart i'm pretty sure it's die off because i have never been so tired before..and a little achy too... i dont have a tempurature or anything and have not changed the diet at all or eaten anything that i know of that i am allergic to..just all the same foods as usual.. has anyone had this or know how to make it go away??? |

Hi Kim, if you are taking 3 or 4 antifungals in one day, that is a heck of alot of die off for your system to eliminate. I don't know if it could cause a racing heart, but I suppose it is possible if your liver is that overworked. Have you taken your pulse or had your blood pressure checked? Perhaps you should check with your doctor if it doesn't normalize soon. Die off is powerful stuff, but I haven't heard of that symptom, I don't think. Anyone else?
Take good care and feel better soon. Sandi |

Hi there
Racing heart is usually associated with an allergy or intolerance to something. I get it really badly if I eat sugar or yeast containing things. You can become intolerant to things as time goes on, and then not have a problem with them after a period of avoidance. Four antifungals at the same time??? Are you crazy Hope this helps xsamx |

thank you guys....
i know, 3 or 4 antifungals is probably awful.. but i havent had alot of die off at all...so i just kept with it..it started before i knew anything about yeast, i just looked up yeast and up came a bunch of things that kill it, so i said 'oh good' and took all of em.... i probably am crazy i dont know why i didnt get really bad die off..i am taking lots of stuff that is supposed to support the liver, so maybe that's why... i just took chinese herbs for "heat" and that seemed to work for now.. but if it doesnt go away i will get it checked out....scary i am just kind of learning as i go along, i've had so many set backs so far i am afraid to change anything...just enjoying the little extra energy and all that... |

I did exactly the same thing Kim, I thought, "Oh maybe I have yeast." and I took GSE, raw garlic, oil of oregano and pau d'arco tea, and whammy, I got so whacked out, I didn't know what hit me. That is the day when I learned about die off.
And yes that is what happens Sam, as we clean out our bodies they become more sensitive to toxins, and then as we gradually add them back we desensitize again, which is not a good thing...especially if it is sugar. I read that one teaspoon of sugar can depress a child's immune system up to 8 hours, scarey hey? Take care ladies, Sandi |

Hello sweet ladies--I just wanted to add that I get racing heart too when I eat things I'm allergic to--I also used to get them frequently when I pmsed, before i really did this program...They will go away, however, as your body becomesmore clean and able to heal itself...it's a scary feeling and i hope you get through it soon!!

Hi Kim,
I posted a link to our welcome page to help you get started on reading through all our program recommendations. The candida cleanse is not something that can be taking on haphazardly. Symptoms like the one you describe can be related to the release of excess mycotoxins (the by products of the candida as it dies.) Immune support, whole body detoxification, food therapy and a gentle, conscious approach to candida die off are all crucial to a comfortable recovery process that does not result in unecessary temporary toxicity. In addition to all the posts that you'll be lead to as you explore the welcome post, the die off article may be helpful for you as well as the post about the complementary supplements that you may want to consider as you undertake your program. Many of the products in this post are available through the Whole Approach store and the post includes links to them there. Cheers, TLC Candida Die-Off: Your Healing Friend and Foe Complementary Supplements |

Kim,
Hi, I just wanted to add that I get a racing heart whenever I've been under a lot of stress for extended periods of time. Like right now! My heart beats like a drum. Other times I get it when my yeast problems are bad, and I think I used to get it from die-off (which tends to mimic my bad yeast symptoms). Recently, I've also wondered if food allergies are contributing. I need to start my food diary again to find out. If you think there is any chance of yours being related to an allergy, try keeping a food diary to pinpoint what's bothering you. But with the amount of antifungals you've been on, it seems like it's a definite possibility that it's from die-off. Either way, I hope it stops soon! I'm going through it right now too, and it can keep me awake for hours at night. It doesn't matter how tired I am, my racing heart makes my whole body jittery and I can't sleep. Take care, ~Tia |

by the way, one thing that can help to calm a racing heart, and calm you down in general if you are stressed, is the essential oil of ylang-ylang. You can burn it for good effect, or put it on your pulse points, or just sniff it off a tissue, for more or less immediate effect. It really works! Test it out, you'll be amazed - I certainly was!
best luck folks xsamx |

Thanks Sandi - I'm trying! I only have 3 assignments left, and 2 of them will be done tomorrow. Woo Hoo!!
Sam - Thanks for that suggestion. I bet Whole Foods will carry that, so I'll try to get some this week. That would be wonderful if my heart would calm down enough to let me sleep. When I went to the campus Dr a few weeks ago for a respiratory problem, she thought I was nervous because my heart was going nuts. I told her about the stress & that made sense to her. Stress was also the reason behind my "respiratory" problem. It ended up being bruised/strained muscles in my chest (over my lungs), which were strained way too easily because I was so tense. I honestly don't even know what I did to strain them. But it made it hurt so badly everytime I breathed that I mistook it for a respiratory problem. It's all better now. Now I just have the task of relaxing. And with Christmas break and family time coming up, that shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks again. ~Tia |

I know, it's awful isn't it? Mine was sometimes 120 or more bpm at resting rate - really scarey!! And it's awful, because you can't possibly get to sleep with it going that fast, and then you get stressed and worried and it becomes a vicious circle. I got so that even when I hadn't eaten anything bad, it would speed up at bedtime just with the worry of it happening! I'm pretty much fine now though, and can now eat nuts again without any problem - they were the one healthy food that still caused it, other things were (are) bread, sugar, alcohol etc.
The ylang ylang really works! If you take a deep inhale of one or two drops on a tissue, it works pretty much straight away, then maybe put the tissue inside you pillow case when you get into bed, to continue the effect. Good luck! xsamx This message has been edited. Last edited by: Buttercup, |
