Hello.

I have had a red, stinging rash under my arms (around my arm pits) for close to 2 months now. At first, it was simply dryness in that area (and I had generally had dry skin all over, due to "Winter itch" - I live in Australia and we have just come out of Winter).

Over the past couple of weeks, it has started to get more "angry" looking and stinging so much sometimes that I am in tears.

I went to the doctor 10 days ago and she prescribed me a cortisone cream, and instructed me to continue using it for 10 days and to apply moisturising cream afterwards, as well as use a fragrance-free deoderant (which I did, but it still stings when I apply it, moreso than normal deoderants).

Today it looks worse than ever, and looks as though it is spreading. It's not stinging yet, but I haven't applied deoderant (I hate the thought of not wearing any - ick!).

I was wondering if this was candida-related, and whether anyone has any advice on what I can do.

Thank you.

Meredith

Hi Meredith--That sounds terrible.

I have had the occasional rash through my candida years, but it was usually brought on by something I ingested--namely coffee or cocoa or that florastor stuff. The candida just made me super sensitive so in some way it was related for me...

I really hope this starts to clear up for you soon. My brother can't wear certain deoderants because of the same thing--I couldn't believe it when he showed me what they do to him--it was awful. Do you have any really natural products you can use as a deoderant?

Thank you, Ashley.

I took the day off work today, because I just wanted to be able to moisturise the whole day and not put any deoderant on - there is no way I could have gone to work without deoderant!

They do seem to look a bit better.

Actually, speaking of deoderants, I do find it hard to find one that really works. I've even spent over $1,000 getting Botox injections in my armpits, and was ecstatic to be odour-free for two days, only to be devastated on the third day to find that things were back to how they were prior to the painful injections. Confused

If anyone is reading this and has any suggestions for me, please let me know! I've tried most things - taking liquid zinc, chlorophyll...but I guess I get fed up when they don't provide results, and then I stop taking them, then wonder if only I had been more consistent and persistent with taking them.

Eeck,

That sounds painful. You're on the right track to reduce your overall populations of yeast to ease this but in the meantime you'll want some topical supports.

In the online store you'll find soothing creams like the Moon Maid yeast ointment and the Red Clover Salve. These would help. A natural zinc based ointment might also help.

You might also try an epsom salt bath daily followed by an application of aloe vera jelly.

Using a mineral based deodorant is your best bet. Baking soda works but might sting and can stain clothes. A mineral based Dr Mist deodorant is the best one I know ofhttp://www.drmist.ca/

I'm not sure where it's made off the top of my head. The link above is to a Canadian organization that distributes it.

I hope you find a solution soon.

Take good care,

TLC

Thanks, Tarilee.
Living in Australia, I don't want to order anything from overseas, due to the time it takes to get here - basically, I need something to ease the pain right now Yes Although I do wish I had ordered some of your suggesgtions when I first noticed my issue!

I will get some aloe vera - that's always wonderfully soothing. Oh the thought of it on my skin right now is sooo good.
