Hi everyone.
Ive been having a recurring yeast infection for the past few months, although I believe Ive had candida longer than that. I have the symptoms, along with Blepharitis in my eyes which Ive heard is related. After medicine proved insufficient, I began taking probiotics (35 billion), one every morning, along with Yeast Arrest which I take twice a day. I also stopped taking birth control this week and began the candida diet - no sugars, no carbs, just veggies, fish, yogurt and quinoa. and lots of water. Its been a week now, and - nothing. I used the yeast arrest on its own for about a week prior to beginning the diet and stopping the BCP, but now I still feel no change - itchiness, rawness and continued fatigue. Am I doing something wrong? |

Yeast Arrest suppositories should just be used once a day and sometimes Red Clover Salve or Vital Vulva can be helpful if applied to the outside so that this extra sensitive tissue is protected from the caustic nature of the Yeast Arrest. Red Clover Plus Salve
Vital Vulva Moon Maid Botanical Salve Often a long term yeast infection is indicative of a systemic problem of yeast overgrowth. You may wish to consider exploring the full program here: Whole Approach welcome post Why don't you have a read through some of the material and see if it feels right for you to try to take a more complete approach to healing this issue? I'll be here again on Tuesday if you have further questions. Take good care, Tarilee |

Hi Merav and welcome to the forum!
I;m glad to hear you're starting to address your yeast issue. I just wanted to stress what Tarilee said about taking a more systemic approach to healing. Once yeast gets out of hand in your body, it takes a very thorough regimen to get the body back in balance. One week, unfortunately, will not be enough to get well. I was very impatient with my progress when I first began this program, but I was determined to rid myself of these buggers and so really stuck with it. I saw slow progress at first, and then some really amazing health changes. I can't encourage you enough to fully address your yeast issues. I waited a very long time before doing just that and it took me quite a while to consider myself well from candida. Let us know if you have any questions in the interim! Ashley |

Thanks for the kind words!
I actually bought the Psyllium, bentonite and capriol, and Im also drinking pau d'arco twice a day. Taking acidophilus once a day, and sticking to the no-sugar, no carb diet for a week now. I completely understand that one week won't show results, but I just want to know if what im doing so far will ultimately pay off in a few months...im willing to be patient, i just dont want to waste time by doing something wrong and maybe even damaging? Thanks! |

I understand your caution about starting a new program. There are a lot of people out there on the internet who make a lot of claims with little to show for it. I can say honestly I have been on many candida programs and this is the only one that really did a thorough job of clearing up the issue for me. I'm going to post a link to the success story page for you so you can have a look and hopefully find some encouragement from it.

Hi Merav,
I just wanted to clarify that our food therapy program here is not "no carbs", that it's designed to insure you have an adequate amount of low glycemic carbohydrates and no sugar. For more details see the Getting Started link and the "Diet" link above. Take care, Tarilee |

Hi, and thanks for your advice.
I finally got started on the P&B shakes today, and am a little bit scared....I dont have a physician beside me (have become disillusioned by them...) and the shake was HORRID tasting. Is it possible to take it with some V8 along with the water? Yuck. Tarilee - thanks, I am eating the good kinds of carbs along with veggies and eggs, meat and chicken without hormones, etc...have been on this diet for 2 weeks now, almost, and have been able to keep it going with no cheating! Im also taking the probiotics, so hopefully....Im on the right track. A little scared by everything I read online - sometimes too much information really makes things worse... but your advice is really calming. Thanks. |

Good for you Merav. It sounds like you've already accomplished lots of good things!
I find the purge has no flavour but still sometimes do it up like a shake for fun. Add a little bit of stevia, sea salt and pumpkin pie spice or cardammon or cinnamon etc and blend it in the blender, adding the fibre last so it doesnt' get to thick. Then it's like a creamy shake. Remember to go easy on the Caproyl in the beginning though. Take care, Tarilee |
