A friend of mine was eating gelato and it inspired me to make some of my own. It turned out really well but I didn't measure as I was doing it so the quantities are only approximations:
Place the following in a blender: -1 Avocado -1/4 cup Hazelnut butter -1/8 cup Hazelnut oil (from the top of the Hazelnut butter) -1/4 cup cocoa powder* -1 Tbsp raw apple cider vinegar -pinch of salt -1/4 cup chicory syrup (I don't think many people use this but I'm sure yacon syrup would work well or a combination of other sweeteners) *TLC says: I would suggest caution with cocoa as some people have allergic reactions or binges when they eat it. Also this recipe contains so much syrup and cocoa that it would need to be split between a few people -I may have added some vanilla... but I can't remmeber Blend until creamy. Eat as nutella or freeze for gelato. It's very rich but very yummy! Enjoy! Meg This message has been edited. Last edited by: Tarilee, |

my question is.... where in the world did you find the hazelnut butter??? Many of us here have searched fruitlessly for some!

hmmm, i can find it in lots of health food stores. i'm based in canada and i think it's a canadian brand, however. i recently moved to the uk and found some here quite easily too, though. perhaps you could do a search online... i can't even remember the brands right now! sorry i can't be more help! it's worth searching for, though, because this recipe is yummy:-)
