Hi all,
As you have been reading, (probably way too much) of my relapse here with the stomach flu Observation...I'm keeping my eating very bland and simple the last so many days. B]AND[/B] I'm not keeping hardly any of what I'm ingesting in. Isn't it amazing that, after going thru this period (12) days. I've only dropped about 4 pounds or so. This is definitely showing me that my digestive tract is not properly working. Though this is nothing new to me, that's the way it was before I found WA...And I know that things will get back on track and the pounds will drop after this period of readjustment that I am going thru. The purpose of this rambling here is for anyone that has an (over) weight issue with having candidas. DON'T be discouraged if you are going thru this....the weight will drop after you stick with the program for a while. I know it will, as they say.. I've been there and done that! My question is... What would you recommend that I do to see that I'm not going to get dehydrated during this period. My energy level is very low from lack of nutrients and necessities that my body is not getting right now. I want to take Tarilee and others advice on not taking the scription drugs I've got for the diahrea and vomiting so that my body rids itself of these toxins.. Taralee...is there a safe "something" I should be drinking...such as ensure or pedilyte or something? Again, thanks so much...in advance! jan |

Hi Jan !
When I have diarrhoea and nausea, I just eat rice. Not completely whole grain because it can irritate the gut more. At the health food store, I have found 1/2 whole rice which seems to help a lot. I eat that for 2 days with few vegetables and meat (but especially rice) and feel really better after. I also noticed that when I have a crisis like you describe, I'm very sensitive to liquid (soup, broth, herbal teas, ...) so I just drink water (and lots of it !). I hope you'll be better soon. Take care, Nath |

Thanks Nath,
Hmmm, that's interesting, as I've mostly been drinking/eating chicken broth and herbal teas the last few days, and it does seem to be running right through me. I've got some brown rice I cooked yesterday in the fridge that I never got around to eating...I'll try some of that with a few green beans for dinner and see how I fare with that. You have been so helpful and caring, I really appreciate it. jan |

Gee Jan...Nath is right on again. I am not much help when it comes to diarrhea....my problem was the opposite, but I do remember my doctor recommending a plain rice diet for my son when he had diarrhea. I guess it is easy to digest and doesn't irritate the intestinal lining.
Best luck with it.... |

Tarilee,
Don't concern yourself about my question in my q on the first post of this thread. I've gotten it figured out... I'm going to start a new thread on my progress. jan |

Hey Jan,
Your metabolism slows down when your food intake is dramatically reduced. It's a handy, survival strategy that our body's have developed to help slow starvation when food is scarce. Neat, but a pain in the butt when we actually want to lose weight. I'd normally suggest drinking miso soup if you can tolerate it but since it's a fermented product you'll likely be better off with a trace minerals (a brand name) product that contains electrolytes and trace minerals. You can get tablets that you just take with plenty of water. Eating sea vegetables is another way to increase your veggies but this may not appeal to you on a queasy stomach? Tari-Lee |
