Why don’t the mushrooms in the SBX formula cause allergic reactions like other fermented agents?
The Chinese medicinal plants are included in the SBX because they are excellent immune tonics and because when they are combined with the SBO’s they amplify the immune-boosting power of the SBO’s. The Blue Green Algae, Ancient Sea Deposits and the Lactobacillus and Bifidus bacteria are added to nourish and fortify the SBO’s. As the SBX product is made, these elements are combined according to a precisely monitored schedule, blending constituents at carefully timed intervals. The formula is then aged, which catalyses specific chemical changes, increasing the bio-activity of each element. The end result is a stabilized compound of powerful nutritional support (that is activated upon contact with the moisture in the Gastro-Intestinal tract). I know it does seem odd - treating fungi with fungi, but it is effective. The SBX has been used in Canada since the late 1990's - with great success. The immune boost offered by SBX is supreme for Candida sufferers. After working with hundreds of people using this product to treat Candida, I cannot recall having a single person report any kind of allergic response. Why don’t the mushrooms in the SBX product cause problems for candida sufferers?: “Although I believe that medicinal mushrooms are not always appropriate for those with sensitivities yeast and most mushrooms, I’ve been tremendously impressed with how compatible this product has been with the hundreds of folks I have known to use it as part of their candida treatment. I have seen it used by people who have previously determined that they cannot tolerate medicinal mushrooms in other forms. My explanation for the better tolerance of this product than of mushrooms alone is based on my own theory which is based on what I know about the therapeutic mushrooms in the product and the way it is made. I have several points that may help to explain why some folks can use this product even if they have had problems with other mushroom substances. My first point is that mushroom component in the SBX product is quite small and is intended to be merely complimentary to the HSM’s. In addition, the product consists of a particularly unique combination of live bacteria with the mushrooms. It is my understanding that the medicinal mushrooms may be partially assimilated by the bacteria during the aging process. In fact the mushrooms are included in the formula with this intent, the theory being that the immune boosting bacteria metabolize the immune-boosting herbs and that this further amplifies this same property in the bacteria. The cultivation and aging process used in the production of this product involves a special approach to fermentation. This can cause chemical changes and may change the structure of the mushrooms to the point of rendering some of their allergenic substances, benign. Again, we have fermentation involved in the treatment of a fungal condition. This is an apparent paradox but in fact, because of the purifying and engulfing nature of the SBO’s, the product resulting from this special fermentation appears to be purified of the harmful by products of fermentation that can in otherwise fermented products, cause intolerance reactions for those with CRC. The HSMs are known in nature for resolving purification. They clean up putrefactive bacteria both in the earth and the human intestinal tract. It seems that this bacteria's special ability to neutralize and or consume putrefaction (a form of decomposition that can involve moulds and pathogenic bacteria), neutralizes the mould-related allergenic elements of the fungus. In analyzing the benefits of this product we must also consider the HSMs ability to stimulate the release of antibodies and cellular antioxidants. If this happens in the intestinal tract, perhaps this could provide additional help to neutralize any ill effects from allergens. As far as the use of fresh medicinal mushrooms on the candida diet goes, the medicinal mushrooms, like sh itake, are special and should be looked at differently than your average button variety mushroom The following is some information about some of the Chinese mushrooms in the SBX: Reishi and Shiitake From “Prescription for Nutritional Healing” by Dr Balch: Shiitake and Reishi are Japanese mushrooms with a delicate texture, strong stems, and well-defined undersides. They are attractive and have impressive health-promoting properties. Shiitake contain a polysaccharide, lentinan, that strengthens the immune system by increasing T cell function. Shiitake mushrooms contain eighteen amino acids, seven of which are essential amino acids. They are rich in B vitamins…Their effectiveness in treating cancer has been reported in a joint study by the Medical Department of Koibe University and the Nippon Kinoko Institute in Japan. These mushrooms are considered delicacies and entirely edible. Reishi have been popular for at least 2,000 years in the Far East. They were rated number one on ancient Chinese lists of superior medicines, and were believed to give eternal youth and longevity. Today, both shiitake and Reishi mushrooms are used to treat a variety of disorders and to promote vitality. They are used to prevent high blood pressure and heart disease, to control and lower cholesterol, to build resistance to disease, and to treat fatigue and viral infections. They are also known to have anti-tumor properties valuable in treating cancer. From Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pritchford: “Reishi mushrooms, becoming widely available in the West as an immune tonic, directly nurtures the heart, soothes the spirit and calms the mind…is thought to tonify immunity best and appears to have a strong effect against tumors and cancers.” “Shiitake mushrooms…beneficial to the stomach; said to be a natural source of interferon, a protein which appears to induce an immune response against cancer and viral disease….good source of germanium, an element that improves cellular oxygenation and enhances immunity.
