Why do I have to take the Purge Drink two hours away from my meals?

Waiting to eat after the purge takes patience and not everyone can manage the longer wait, for practical or for physiological reasons (i.e. hunger), but I'll tell you why I like to see folks waiting one to two hours if possible. The purge ingredients are designed to both scrub and soak up waste material from the sides of the colon. The biochemical and somewhat magnetic make up of the drink, along with it's texture, can do the required cleansing "work" most effectively when the drink is exposed to the intestinal walls alone (i.e. not mixed in with food). If you eat too close to the purge, it's kind of like trying to clean with a dirty scrub brush and sponge... you'll still get the job done but it won't leave things as clean and it will take a bit longer to do.

There is an additional important reason to separate the purge drink from your food. When taking a fibre supplement or eating a lot of fibre in your diet regularly it is important to time the consumption of it two h ours away from your meals, so that the fibre does not interfere with the optimum absorption of the nutrients in your food. It is even more important to separate the purge drink from your medications and vitamin/mineral supplements, for the same reason.

Although you must take these issues seriously and time your protocol accordingly, the fibre based anti-fungal treatment in phases one and two of the Whole Approach program are highly effective at reducing yeast populations where they are most plentiful, in the colon. Colon cleansing support in the program, (which is also provided by the purge drink ingredients), is also essential. It is crucial to pull the waste out of the body after killing off the yeast. When yeast is killed off without an accompanying colon cleanse the body can reabsorb the toxins released by the dead yeast and this will cause uncomfortable symptoms and stress on the immune system which will subsequently slow healing. The bentonite liquid in the purge drink significantly enhances the toxin absorption effects of the psyllium and also helps to prevent re-absorption.
